One of the things that I'm most excited about in my new book is embroidery! I have all of these inspirations and ideas in my head, but I didn't quite know how to execute them. Now, I have a few options and I am SOOOOO excited! I jumped in last night and this morning to try some out. This pictures shows both attempts.
On the far right, you'll see a half-butterfly (I didn't plan my yarn amount properly) and a flower. Both of these were done completely free, no pattern, no nothing. On the left is the butterfly I did today. I drew the butterfly on wax paper, which I laid on the crochet background, and stitched through. It was relatively easy to pull the wax paper off the project once I was done.
Granted, I need a lot of work, especially with even stitch lengths, etc....but for a first go, I don't think it's all that bad. :)

Well, well well....
I'm back! :)
Now that life has settled down, I definitely plan on keeping up with this blog, too! I just got a new book today and I am SUPER excited about it!!!!! I have a project in mind and will post pictures once it's complete (and to my liking :)).
ETA: This is what I'm most excited about in my new book! (though there are MANY things that I love :))

Craft Fair
So! Day one of the craft fair is in the books, and I actually sold some stuff! A few ornaments, a few hats, and even got to trade with another vendor for some Christmas presents for the fam. :) All in all, a good day, and still more to go tomorrow! You should come out and visit! It's at the Center for Spiritual Learning in Asheville. You can find directions here.
Here are some pictures from the day.
